Saturday.....Finished up the painting at the Church and at the apartment, along with all the foundation work at Joel's new house. The commercial size compressor is finally working at Ed's....now the 'boys' (as Ed refers to them) can start doing tire repair business.
The group had a tremendous sharing and testimonial time with the youth (and adults) of the Church, and then went to ride a 'zip' line at the falls here in Guachochi.
Ed and I were back to the house at 9:15 pm, but for some reason bedtime finally came at 11pm??? Always more to do, even in the evening....that's OK, as that's what we are here for....accomplishing all we can while we are here!
Sunday.....Church was all the group today, Austin and Brandon shared for Sunday School, and Josh Bullard presented the message for today. More later today if I get the chance. I hope to add some pictures too.
It will be a busy afternoon, as we have to have everything loaded for an early departure tomorrow morning.
Most of the group left after church for the Canyon overlook at Sinforosa....they will eat lunch there, while Pastor Antonio/family and some of the rest of us will eat here in town.

Friday
Thursday-We had a long day on the road....got across the border without any problems, and then just drove. A few got car sick from the mountain curves, but with Dr. Penwell along, he had medication to help! I think Chloe was some nauseated but tolerated the trip much better than what I thought she might.
Friday-We arrived in Guachochi, around 9....I think.....helped the group get all their gear unloaded, then all the vehicles were parked at the Capps. I fell into bed at 11 pm, and I think was asleep before my head hit the pillow.
Hi ho hi ho, off to work we go.......everyone got assigned a crew to work on today, and Chloe was sent to the Capps as one of the painters. The apartment that Antonio and Lulu lived in needed painting in the 'kitchen/living-room, so the walls were stripped and then the painting started. Another crew were at the Church painting the outside of the building, and another crew started pouring the foundation for Joel and Cassilda's house. One of the girls told me tonight that she was very impressed with Chloe and her work habits. "She is a hard worker!"
Ed had several projects for me, helping get equipment ready, and then plumbing the air compressor from the pump to the tank. Probably should have been fitted with steel pipe, but I sweated copper lines for the plumbing. It all worked great when we were done, so that was good!
We ate supper and then went, as a group, to a funeral of a 92 year old from the Church. Was an interesting participation for us, as we had no idea who she was. The son and daughter were very thankful and appreciative that we honored their mother! There were actually several people I knew from the church.
It is going on 11pm again, and Ed and I are always out the door about the same time in the morning......6am is starting to get harder to face! Goodnight all !!!

Wednsday
Not much time to post.....busy day again. More running around town getting equipment found and purchased, either for the trip or things Ed and Debby need to have done before going 'south'!
We did get the electrical all done, seems like several trips were made to Lowe's for parts, but a necessary function when everything isn't at your fingertips.
Ed and I had to make a trip back to town at 6pm, to get medication for Brandon Hodge.....not enough time to explain it all here now; short version......wrong store at the furthest point in West El Paso, to another store in South El Paso, to the furthest store in East El Paso and then a dozen calls to the Hodges trying to get the payment transferred ahead. Lew Hodge finally had to just pay twice so we could get it picked up.....needless to say it was 10pm when we finally got back home to eat supper, and then some packing.
The OK group arrived somewhere around 9pm or so???, but we didn't connect with them tonight. Chloe did pack up and move over to the church to spend the night with the group....I hope all is well with her, I feel like I have somewhat abandoned her....all part of what happens when we are just here to help out however we can.
I am writing this Thursday morning and must get a move on, as the group are to be here at 6am for final packing.....the border crossing opens at 7am, but I doubt if we will be there until 9 or so

It's Chloe here. Debbie and I have been preparing for our trip into Mexico. we have gathered clothing, toys, and other fun stuff for the Indians, and we're sorting and packing it. I'm extremely excited for my first missions trip! Tonight the group from Oklahoma is arriving. We'll spend the night here then set off tomorrow morning for Mexico. Debbie has been planing meals for us for the next few days, and I've helped her shop and cook. We have accomplished a good amount of tasks to ensure a great trip. Please keep us in your prayers, Thanks!:)

Tuesday
Another busy, and filled day....I worked on trying to get a data card working from 6-7:30 am and finally had to tell AT&T that I would use the 'pony express' instead!
Ed and I worked on electrical wiring all morning. Chloe was up early, and then had an 'awake relapse', falling asleep again until around 8 am. Ed and I came in for breakfast around 9 and then back to work. Chloe, Ed and I all went to town at noon, to get money exchanged, and other supplies we couldn't get yesterday.....we were all over El Paso. Lunch was consumed around 2 or 2:30 pm and then some more errands before returning to Chaparral. Got more wiring done, and then off to Maya and Nate Capps for supper at 6:30. Ed and I returned to the wiring until dark. Maya was not feeling well (possible bladder infection), so Chloe watched the kids for awhile as Nate had come to assess my wiring job and visit. Debby was getting some things gathered for Maya.....she brought Chloe back about 9:00. Chloe called her family, and is now taking a shower at 10:15. When she is done it will be my turn at the shower....boy was it hot and sweaty today! May be a chance of rain in this parched area tomorrow, will have to see?
Tomorrow will most likely be a marathon of getting the vehicles ready and other last minute items done before the Oklahoma group arrives in the late afternoon. There will be more packing and readiness to take care of then, as we plan on crossing the border early on Thursday.
I may not get to post again until Friday or so, after we get to Guachochi!

Chaparral, NM
Chloe and I arrived in Chaparral, NM on Monday at 10am....Ed and Debby met us at the airport, and we took off on an errands and supply hunt. We were all over the city trying to get American dollars exchanged for the Mexican Peso. Ed said because of the Holiday, the exchange rate is terrible, so we will go back tomorrow. Had a huge lunch (around 2 PM) to celebrate Debby's birthday (2nd June) and because Chloe and I were really hungry. Got back to the Capps house, and went right to work on electrical wiring for the air compressor Ed has here at the border.....Chloe and Debby sorted some cloths that we will take to Mexico, and started some supper. Evening is the coolest time of the day to accomplish anything, so all of us were busy until dark.....Finally fell into bed at 10 pm
